La Ciudad de la Habana (Habana City) is the capital city of the Republic of Cuba. For centuries it was, due to its geographical location in the archipelago and the excelent features of its bay, the obliged stopping point of the Spaniard fleet on their transition to the European continent. In these days, with a population of more than 2 million,
Habana is the destiny each year of 2 million tourists from all over the world.
Presently, Habana comprises two singular zones: La Habana Vieja (Old Habana), where buildings and fortresses form a magnificent treasure declared by UNESCO World Heritage and the modern Habana, not less atractive, where modern music and afro rhythms are combined for the pleasure and joy of residents and visitants.
In Habana City live together ancient fortresses constructed by the spaniards for defending the city against the pirates such as El Morro and La Cabaņa with modern buildings like the Capitol, or the luxurious hotels National and Melia Cohiba
The capital city of Cuba is a like a magic city. A place where you may have a traditional cuban dinner at La Bodeguita del Medio, drink a daiquiry in El Restaurante Floridita ( same place where Hemingway used to do it), spend a wonderfull evening under the stars at the Cabaret Tropicana or, if you really want to do it.... meet CO2OJ at his QTH...Hi!
