My parents, Oscar(sk) and Librada had three sons (Oscar, Joaquín y Roberto) and a daughter (Ana María).
My love for radio comes from very near. I think that before I learned how to say "papá" I knew how to say CQ, CQ DX...! The first image I remember of my father is sitted in front of a "little" one Kilowatt homebrew transmiter he had in the 40's, turning on all the lights of the neighbors each time he said ...HOLA!!
Oscar senior, as almost everybody used to call him, was ham radio operator since he was 15 years old until he passed away on june 16th, 1999. He was one of the best cuban DX'ers and Elmer of many newcomers. He was also the organizer of the
Cuban DX Group (GDXC) and its National Coordinator until his death.
My fiance, Amarilys, is not a ham and she talks about my equipments as "all those noisy things", but at least she let me do some radio once in a while...jaja. She is a Doctor, Especialist in MGI. At home I have three dogs and a cat. Many people whisper that I'm crazy (maybe they are right), but my pets are a kind of company that, at least, doesn't discuss my decisions....Hi! All my pets are mixed... I believe that a Dalmata or a San Bernardo will always find somebody to look after them, so I only take care of the uglies ones, those that almost nobody wants.
